When do we stop waiting?

Everyday we wait in line,
We wait for our names to get called so we can get our morning coffee.
We wait for the food to arrive,
And we wait for our turn to cross the street.
We wait for someone to pick up the phone,
And we wait for that someone special to say those three magic words.
Have you ever thought about how much we’ve been waiting all our lives?
We wait so long to be grown ups,
We wait to have the age to go to the bars,
We wait to graduate,
And wait for a response from recruiters,
We wait for that job to get better,
We wait for a promotion,
And we wait for the best time to take action on our plans.
We wait for the economy to get better to invest,
We wait to be more financially stable to open that business,
We wait for that relationship to improve,
And we wait to finally be recognized by our achievements at work.
We wait to use those notebook stickers,
We wait to take that special trip once we’re older,
And we wait years to get a tattoo to be absolutely sure that’s what we want.
But how much waiting is enough?
When do we stop waiting for things to happen?
Can we take action now instead of continuously waiting for something that may never come?
A big problem people face with waiting for the perfect moment to do things is that the perfect moment might never exist. People who say “ah that was the perfect moment to act,” are the people who did in fact went out of their way to make it happen, and the result was the creation of the so-called perfect timing.
My point is, instead of waiting, what are you doing to make it happen?
